352.633.4643 | yankeetrails.com The Villages ® Community F E B R U A R Y 2 0 1 8 03 I f you're looking for a New York night out without actually trav- eling to colder weather, you might venture over to The Italian Pai- sans Club in the Villages, Flori- da, which has been described as having "the atmosphere of a New York nightclub," according to Jer- ry Vicenti, President of The Italian Paisans Club. "Right from the beginning, I want- ed this club to become more than just another social/dance club," Vicenti said. The Paisans Club has grown over the years, beginning with about 250 shows to now featuring up to a $12,000 show. The entertainment budget for 2018 is over $69,000. Established in late 2011, the Pai- sans Club is a non-profit club that has hosted top entertainers including Fernando Varela, Gary Lewis and The Playboys, The Di- amonds and The Flamingos and Terry Johnson - their next show will even feature the New York Bee Gees. Shows are on the third Sunday in each month and in add- ing to the nightclub experience and entertainment, guests can have Italian pastries served di- rectly to their tables. Consisting of around 650 mem- bers, the Paisans Club is one hundred percent a volunteer op- eration and all the money earned from shows goes directly back into the club to produce more en- tertainment for its members. Tickets for the first quarter of 2018 have unfortunately already sold out, as they have for every show for the past four years. However, on February 1 the Club will be announcing their second quarter lineup for 2018.
